What more could any reader ask for?

Who wrote it?

Ken Deeprose is a retired engineer, board game designer, and author of the critically-acclaimed Mech Trilogy. As a lifelong fan of science fiction, he's enjoying the opportunity to launch the next generation of young readers down the same path. He lives in Calgary, Alberta with his amazing wife, teenage son, a cat, a dog, and a pond full of fish.

How did it all begin?

It started as a card game. I was designing a game that would play like a trading card game, but eliminate all the annoying collecting aspects that come with one of those. One day, my son asked me; "Does your game need a back story?" That question started me on the path of writing The Mech Trilogy. Unfortunately, the writing required my full attention, so progress on the game ground to a halt. Now that the books are done, I'm very much looking forward to getting back to the game.

What is Kindo?

Kindo is the most popular game on the planet of Cambria. Ken Deeprose, Earth's foremost expert on Cambrian culture, has translated the game into English and brought it here for humans to enjoy.

The phrase "playing Kindo" is much the same as saying "playing cards" here on Earth. Many different games can be played with the colourful chips, which feature symbols based on hieroglyphics found on the walls of ancient caves in The Wash.

One version is a solitaire game that has been recreated on the itch.io platform.
